Well, sort of. Last night we stayed in Itero de la Vega, a depressing collection of run-down buildings and a motel-esque albergue. The only plus was readily-available ice cream in the attached bar. And so we hatched a plan: Skip the maddening Wheatfields of Insanity via bus and get to bright, shiny León a few days early. With the time saved, we'll be able to walk to Finesterre ("end of the world") on the coast after reaching Santiago.
In other words, we're dodging the Big Bad of the meseta and hightailing it to León!
